A brief History
Indonesian Muslim University has one of the health faculties that continues to develop, namely the UMI Faculty of Dentistry. This faculty exists as part of UMI's commitment to improving the quality of education and dental health services in Indonesia, especially in the Eastern Indonesia region.
The origins of the UMI Faculty of Dentistry began with the Dentistry Study Program which was under the auspices of the UMI Faculty of Medicine. Along with the increasing need for professional dentists and the development of health education within UMI, this study program was then developed into a separate faculty.
The establishment of FKG UMI was initiated by Prof. Drg. H. M. Hatta Hasan Sulle, Ph.D., a dental academic figure who has made a major contribution to the development of dental education in Eastern Indonesia.
The UMI Faculty of Dentistry was officially established on April 14 2014. Since its founding, the UMI FKG has organized two educational programs, namely the Undergraduate Dentistry Study Program (S1) and the Dentist Professional Program. The presence of these two programs aims to produce dentist graduates who are professional, competent and based on Islamic values.
In the development process, FKG UMI continues to strengthen educational facilities, laboratories, clinics, RSIGM and other learning support facilities to support a quality dental education process. This faculty is also active in improving academic quality through curriculum development, research and community service.
Over time, FKG UMI succeeded in obtaining quality recognition through superior accreditation from LAM-PTKes as a form of achieving continuously improved educational quality. Apart from that, infrastructure development and the construction of modern facilities continue to be carried out to support the vision of FKG UMI as one of the leading dental education centers in Eastern Indonesia.
Until now, the UMI Faculty of Dentistry continues to develop and is committed to producing dentists who are superior, ethical, have Islamic morals, and are able to provide the best service to the community.
