Makassar, fkg.umi.ac.id — Strengthening the quality of human resources was once again emphasized by the UMI Waqf Foundation through the inauguration of 200 permanent lecturers and employees within the Indonesian Muslim University. This activity took place at the UMI Al Jibra Auditorium, UMI Campus II, Jalan Urip Sumoharjo, Makassar City, South Sulawesi, on Monday (27/4/2026).
A total of 200 recipients of the mandate consisted of 167 lecturers and 33 permanent education staff. In this activity, 18 lecturers from the dental faculty and 3 educational staff were also entrusted. This inauguration is part of a strategic effort to strengthen the institution's role as an educational center that is not only academically superior, but also based on Islamic values.
The series of events took place with great solemnity. Starting with the reading of the holy Koran and prayer, the activity then continued with the reading of the appointment decree. The mandate recipients further confirmed their commitment by signing and reading the Integrity Pact together.
Not stopping at the formal ceremony, the newly inaugurated lecturers and staff immediately took part in a briefing session as a first step in carrying out their duties. The first briefing material was delivered by the Head of Trustees of the UMI Waqf Foundation, Prof. Dr. H. Mansyur Ramly, SE., M.Si, via hybrid or online.
This session was guided by UMI's Head of Public Relations, Protocol and Cooperation, Dr. Eng. Irma Nur Afiah. In his introduction, he emphasized that love for an institution cannot be expressed in words, but must be reflected in real actions and daily dedication.
In his presentation, Prof. Mansyur invited all recipients of the mandate to work on the basis of sincerity and responsibility. He emphasized that the mandate given must create integrity, honesty and a positive image for the institution in the eyes of the public.
Apart from that, he also reminded the importance of maintaining spiritual closeness to Allah as part of UMI's identity as a science and da'wah campus. According to him, spiritual values and Islamic work ethic must go hand in hand in every professional activity.
Through this momentum, UMI hopes that new lecturers and employees can quickly adapt and make real contributions in improving the quality of education, service and community service. This inauguration is also a continuous step in strengthening UMI's position as a university with competitiveness and character.
