
Makassar,fkgumi.ac.id– BEM KBMFKG – UMI officially opened a series of UMI Social Service activities Charity of Smiles (UAS) Vol. IV, located in the POMB Multipurpose Building, Faculty of Dentistry, UMI. This activity is the beginning of the implementation of the community service program which will be implemented in Baubau City, Southeast Sulawesi. (24/7/2026)
The opening ceremony took place solemnly and was attended by Deputy Chancellor III UMI Prof. Dr. H. M. Kamal Hijaz, S.H., M.H. faculty leaders, lecturers, students, and the executive committee. The activity began with an official opening, reading the holy verses of the Koran, singing the songs Indonesia Raya, Mars UMI and Mars KBMFKG UMI and continued with speeches from the faculty and university.
One of a series of opening events was the Vice Chancellor III's opening remarks. On this occasion, he provided support for the implementation of UMI's Social Service Charity of Smiles Vol. IV 2026. In his speech, he expressed his appreciation to all committee members and students who had initiated community service activities as an implementation of the Tri Dharma values of Higher Education, especially in the field of community service.
Carrying the spirit of "UMI Charity of Smiles", this activity is a forum for UMI FKG students to apply knowledge while increasing social awareness through dental and oral health services as well as various educational activities for the community in Baubau City.
Deputy Dean III drg. Nurasisa Lestari, Sp.KGA said that UAS Vol. IV not only aims to provide health services, but also strengthens relations between the FKG UMI academic community and the community and forms student characters who have integrity, professionalism and a spirit of service.
Through this activity, it is hoped that the entire 2026 UMI Charity of Smiles Social Service series can run smoothly, provide extensive benefits to the people of Baubau City, and further strengthen the UMI FKG's commitment to producing graduates who are superior, have noble character, and care about the needs of the community.
