On July 5 2024, the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) of the Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) recorded a brilliant achievement by achieving accreditation from the Independent Accreditation Institute for Higher Education in Health (LAMPT KES). This achievement is the result of the hard work and dedication of the entire FKG UMI academic community in ensuring the best quality education in the field of dentistry.
This accreditation process involves a team of assessors consisting of three leading experts in the field of dentistry: Prof. Dr. Titiek Berniyanti, drg., M.Kes. from Airlangga University (UNAIR), Prof. Dr. Drg. Juni Handajani, M.Kes., Ph.D. from Gadjah Mada University (UGM), and Prof. Drg. Sondang Pintauli Ph.D. FISDPH. FISPD. from the University of North Sumatra (USU). They carried out a field assessment directly at the FKG UMI campus which is located on Jalan Pajonga Dg Ngalle, Makassar.
Preparation for accreditation begins with comprehensive efforts in compiling various required documents, which include curriculum, teaching methods, supporting facilities, as well as research and community service activities. The UMI FKG accreditation team works closely with all faculty components to ensure that every aspect meets the high standards set by LAMPT KES.
During the field assessment, the assessor team carried out an in-depth evaluation of all operational and academic aspects of FKG UMI. They review documents, observe facilities, and conduct interviews with various related parties to ensure that education quality standards have been met. FKG UMI is able to demonstrate a strong commitment to providing modern and complete facilities, competent teaching staff, and innovative programs that support the learning process.
When the accreditation results were announced, the entire FKG UMI academic community celebrated with pride and gratitude. Achieving LAMPT KES accreditation is an official recognition of the quality of education provided by FKG UMI. This success not only increases the faculty's credibility in the eyes of the public and prospective students, but also opens up opportunities for wider collaboration with other educational institutions and health organizations, both at home and abroad.
However, this success is not the end of the journey. FKG UMI is committed to continuing to innovate and maintain recognized quality standards. The Faculty is determined to continue to produce dental health workers who are competent, professional and highly competitive. With this spirit, FKG UMI not only contributes to the world of education, but also plays an active role in improving the quality of public health as a whole.
