Learning is an active process, to optimize the process of active interaction and active participation from students and lecturers. So that students are able to have an understanding through a process facilitated by the lecturer.

To build understanding, this can take place through learning methods that encourage active interaction such as problem based learning, case based learning and so on which are simulated by contextual problems or cases. This is what underlies problem based learning tutor training for lecturers at the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) so that an active learning process can be developed and the method applied by referring to various student situations, this was conveyed by WD 3 FKG Drs. H. Ilyas Umar, MA at the opening of problem based learning tutor training for UMI FKG lecturers in the UMI FKG campus hall 1 (30/3).

"I hope that the FKG lecturers are really serious and disciplined in participating in the entire series of events as a provision for mastering the lecturer's competence as a facilitator or tutor," he said.

The role of the lecturer is no longer as a transferer of knowledge, but the lecturer is a facilitator or tutor who manages the learning process and develops appropriate teaching media so that they can play an optimal role in actively facilitating students.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the committee, Drg. Lilis said that this training would take place from May 30 to April 1 and would be attended by 20 participants, featuring resource person Dr. Adam Malik Hamudeng and Drs. Irfan Sugianto, M.Med.Ed with lecture and practical material.
