FKG UMI Undergoes Visitation of the Collegium for Dental Conservation, a Step towards the Opening of the PPDGS Program for Dental Conservation

Makassar,fkg.umi.ac.id– The Faculty of Dentistry at the Indonesian Muslim University received a visit from the Visitation Team from the Collegium for Dental Conservation in order to verify readiness for the opening of the Specialist Dentist Education Study Program (PPDGS) for Conservation Dentistry, at the FKG UMI Makassar Campus. This visitation activity is part of the process of providing recommendations for opening the PPDGS Dental Conservation Study Program carried out by the Collegium for Dental Conservation. This process aims to ensure the institution's readiness to meet various required standards, including education standards, competencies, teaching hospitals, human resources, facilities and infrastructure, governance, as well as completeness of supporting documents.

The visitation team was led by Prof. Drg. Nurhayati Natsir, Sp.KG., Subsp.K.R., Ph.D. as Head of the Visitation Team, accompanied by Drg. Wahyuni ​​Suci Dwiandhany, Sp.KG., Subsp.K.R., Ph.D. as a team member.

The series of activities began with an opening and remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, UMI, Prof. Drg. H. Moh. Dharma Utama, Ph.D., Sp.Pros., SubSp., PKIKG (K), continued with remarks from the Head of the Visitation Team. Next, the Proposing Team explained the readiness to open the PPDGS Dental Conservation Study Program which includes academic aspects, curriculum, human resources, governance, as well as facilities and infrastructure support.

After the presentation session, the Visitation Team verified administrative and academic documents, then directly inspected various educational support facilities, including laboratories, learning facilities and other facilities which are an important part of the implementation of specialist dentist education. The activity ended with a discussion and clarification session with university leaders, faculties, teaching hospitals, and the proposing team.

Carrying out this visitation is a strategic step for FKG UMI in realizing the opening of the PPDGS Dental Conservation Study Program. It is hoped that the presence of this specialist program will strengthen the contribution of the UMI Faculty of Dentistry in producing specialist dentists who are competent, professional, and able to answer the needs of dental and oral health services in Indonesia.

Through this visitation process, FKG UMI has again demonstrated its commitment to improving the quality of higher dental education and expanding access to quality specialist dental education in accordance with national standards.
