The Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) of the Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) held a guest lecture in the field of oral disease which was centered in the hall room on the 2nd floor of the UMI FKG building, Jalan Padjonga Daeng Ngalle, Makassar, Tuesday (17/06/2025).
This guest lecture activity presented Drg. Erni Marlina, Ph.D., Sp.PM., Subsp. Inf (K) guided by UMI FKG lecturer Drg Fatimah Fauzi Basalamah, Sp. PM with the topic "relationship between oral and oral cancer"
"Oral infections and oral cancer are closely related, not only affecting local oral health but also playing a role in cellular and molecular transformations that can lead to oral cancer. Therefore, early detection, infection control, and treatment of precancerous lesions are very important in efforts to prevent oral cancer," he explained.
