FKG UMI Increases Awareness of Students' Dental and Oral Health Through Community Service at SD Inpres Parang

Makassar, fkg.umi.ac.id – The Faculty of Dentistry, Indonesian Muslim University is again carrying out community service activities at SD Inpres Parang which is located in Lanna Village, Parangloe District, Gowa Regency. This activity is part of FKG UMI's ongoing commitment to improving the level of dental and oral health in the community, especially in the elementary school environment. (13/6/2026)

The activity, which was held on Saturday, June 13 2026, was attended directly by the Dean of FKG UMI along with lecturers and the community service team. The presence of the UMI FKG group was warmly welcomed by the Principal of SD Inpres Parang Sri Bulan, S.Pd., M.pd along with the teachers and students who seemed enthusiastic about taking part in the series of activities.

In his speech, the Dean of FKG UMI emphasized that this community service activity does not only focus on providing health services, but also has important value in strengthening relations between the university and the community.

"This activity is not only about providing health services, but also a means of strengthening UMI's relationship with the community, in this case the teachers and students at SD Inpres Parang," said the Dean of FKG UMI in his speech.

This activity was attended by around 85 participants consisting of students from SD Inpres Parang. They receive various dental health education services, dental and oral health checks, as well as counseling about the importance of maintaining dental hygiene from an early age.

Through this activity, FKG UMI hopes to raise awareness of the importance of dental health in school-aged children, while strengthening the role of universities in making real contributions to society.
