KBMFKG-UMI Promotes Healthy Living in the Momentum of World No Tobacco Day 2026

Makassar, fkg.umi.ac.id – In commemoration of Thematic Day (HATI)World No Tobacco Day, Department of Dedication KBMFKG-UMI carried out outreach activities to the community in the Car Free Day (CFD) area on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Makassar. (24/5/ 2026)

This activity is a form of student awareness of the importance of increasing public awareness regarding the dangers of tobacco use and its impact on health, especially oral health and general body health. Socialization is carried out directly to the community with an educational and interactive approach so that health messages can be conveyed well.

The implementation of the activity was also accompanied directly by the Deputy Dean III of FKG UMI, Drg. Nurasisa Lestari, Sp. KGA together with FKG UMI lecturers as a form of support for community service and health education activities carried out by students.

Apart from carrying out socialization in the Sudirman CFD area, the series of activities was also continued with outreach to the community in the villages supported by FKG UMI. In this outreach, students provide education about the negative impact of smoking on health and the importance of adopting a healthy, smoke-free lifestyle.

The activity took place with quite high community enthusiasm. It is hoped that active interaction between students, lecturers and the community will be able to increase mutual awareness in creating a healthier environment free from exposure to cigarettes.

Through the momentum of warningWorld No Tobacco DayCurrently, the KBMFKG-UMI Department of Dedication hopes that educational and promotive activities like this can continue to be carried out on an ongoing basis as a form of service to the community as well as a real contribution of students in improving the level of public health.
